GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for designated grinding programs and projects to assure that customer requirements are met within prescribed quality metrics, time frames and cost parameters.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic and Functional
- Work with global customers to determine areas of opportunities for Loram’s products and services to satisfy customer needs. Support customer and sales resources through proposal and contract stage.
- Participate in project cost estimation and pricing; provide competitor cost and capability assessment when available.
- Create technical project scope; communicate and liaison with internal Loram personnel and external resources. Create grind quality inputs – cycle, template, pattern book – for operations activities and ensure availability to the machines.
- Ensure all preparations are made for timely commencement of operations upon equipment / resource arrival. Communicate all Loram needs to customer track authorities in advance of operations. Act as lead point of contact for rail quality issues during contracted operations.
- Compile report, per contract, on production and grind quality deliverables and identify further upselling opportunities across the Loram catalog.
Leadership and Talent Development
- Provide guidance to ad hoc or cross-functional team members as assigned; assume position of responsibility for on-site project activities.
Operational Excellence
- Work with the Ops staff to suggest alternative methods and procedures in solving technical problems and meeting changing market opportunities by developing new or enhancing existing equipment or services.
- Stay abreast of technical developments in the industry by reviewing technical publications, articles, and abstracts and participating in industry meetings and events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree
- 3+ years in a similar role within the railroad industry, focusing on rail quality, grinding programs, or track maintenance.
- Experience working with railroad operations, particularly managing on-site projects and liaising with track authorities.
- Knowledge of grinding operations, rail quality metrics, and production cycle planning.
- Proven experience in creating technical project scopes and managing operations to meet quality standards.
Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications
In lieu of education 5+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Engineering, Project Management or similar technical degree

Starting pay for the position is between $75,450.00 – $94,350.00.
