GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting support for Loram’s corporate accounting functions and assigned business segments. Primary responsibilities include preparation and posting of journal entries; analysis of assigned general ledger account activity; assistance with the month-end and year-end financial closings; and supporting the internal and external audit functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Operational Excellence
- Preparation and posting of journal entries
- Preparation, analysis, and reporting of assigned general ledger account reconciliations
- Assists with monthly and year-end closings including processing assigned accruals and analysis of assigned business segment results
- Assists with capital expenditure administration process including fixed asset processing and reporting
- Assists with processing and administration of treasury management, technician labor reporting, and intercompany and expense reporting transactions across assigned business segments
- Assists with maintaining data integrity and code part hierarchy within the ERP system
- Coordinates efforts with the broader accounting teams including finance, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost, and payroll
- Prepares and maintains work procedures for assigned tasks
- Completes and assists with special projects and other duties as assigned
Compliance
- Assists with interim and year-end external audits related to areas of responsibility
Global-International
- Assists with the accounting and financial review for assigned global entities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience: 3+ years related experience in Accounting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- High level of accountability
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Strong aptitude of systems and software applications, with proficient skills using Microsoft applications
- A disciplined work ethic and advocate for Loram’s values, vision, and mission
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: US GAAP knowledge; Manufacturing work experience; Working with a complex structure of companies
Software: IFS, WebFocus, Dayforce, Cornerstone, OnBase, Concur, SharePoint, Workday Adaptive
